What Causes Burning Sensation On Urethra While Urinating Post Intercourse?
Hi me and my partner had sex for 3 hours and my uertha feels burnt and constant throbbing and really hurts when i urine i have been to the doctors who have gave me antibiotics so there is no infection in my urine is this normal and how long will it last thank you
The area is likely inflamed and it may take a few days ( 3 to 4 ) for some improvement to occur.
The antibiotics would prevent the inflamed area from becoming infected. You may also want to consider the use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen.
Hello there, From what you have described you seem to have what is called as honeymoon cystitis or urinary tract infection post intercourse. It requires antibiotics for 1week to 3 weeks. Also you need to have plenty of fluids and can try having sips of alkalinating solutions . The bacteria that have caused an infection in your urinary tract produce more acid and that is why it burns. The alkali neutralises the acid and hence you find relief. Thank you for a query, Dr Arun A
