What Causes Burning Skin And Scalp Upon Exposure To Methamphetamine?

Hi I accidentally got meth on my skin & in my hair! I m not sure if I am suffering from psychosis due to my bipolar & I have once before, but better to just do something instead of waiting it out whilet it is burning skin. I rinsed in cold water for over an hour 3 can and a bath. I used baby oil & regular soup but sonly worried that my skin is slowly being eaten by it. Please tell me what to do besides a hospital.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is a kind of chemical burn. As of now clean the area with freshwater and apply silverex ointment. If there is a large area involved, or signs of infection, antibiotics may be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
