I am a 60 year old female. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have had this condition for approx. three years. I take Prednisone, injectable Methotrexate and was taking Arava until about 6 weeks ago. Arava wasn't working, so doc took me off if and put me back on Sulfasalazine which I took in the past with no problems. Now I'm experiencing a feeling on my tongue and lips that feels as if they have been burned by hot food. My taste buds seem to be affected by this. Is it the Sulfasalazine? If so, what can I do to counter act this unpleasant sensation?
