Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burps With Bad Odour Along With Itchy Red Eyes In A Child?
my son is 6 he was seen at the dr today. he has drainage, itchy red eyes that were matted shut this morning, sore throat, feels weak, shaky, tired, and some diarrhea. he is afraid to drink anything because he has burps and says they smell like vomit. The dr said he has allergies and a possible stomach bug. I feel uneasy and would like an opinion
Burps with bad odor could be due to indigestion. Itchy eyes, sore throat, weakness and tiredness could be due to common cold or flu. I suggest you to give an anti-pyrectic paracetamol syrup to the child 4 or 6 hours along with rest. If the symptoms do not disappear within 1-2 days, you need to consult your pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
