What Causes Buttock Region And Knee Joint Pain?

i'm a medical student(pharmacy) and i have had pain on ma left side of the body esp in the region of the sciatic nerve around the buttock region and seems to have a link with ma left knee joint b'se sometimes i get corresponding pain there.I was also diagnosed of arthritis in the same knee joint but which i believe cured except for that occassional pain. of recent i learnt also about the effect of quinine injections on the sciatic nerve.pliz advice me
