General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am of the opinion that buzzing sound also knows as tinnitus could be due to an infection in the inner ear.

Therefore, you need to consult an ENT specialist regarding this. They will examine using otoscope for better diagnosis and also will rule out other common causes of it.

Since you have previously tried to scratch the ear it could have lead to an infection like furunculosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
