Hello,

It would have been better if you have mentioned your age in the question. The calcification of aortic valve can occur normally as you age. If there are any underlying problems like tissue defects, rheumatic heart disease etc., calcification and narrowing of aortic valve can occur early. Normal aortic valve has three leaves. In some people there will be only two leaves. If there are only two leaves such valves can also get calcified and narrowed easily.

Impaired left ventricular relaxation can occur normally as you age. It can also occur if there is any heart muscle dysfunction as that can occur due to reduced blood flow to heart muscles. It can progress as you age or if the underlying low blood flow is not corrected. Medications like angiotensin receptor blockers can aid in prevention of progression of ventricular relaxation to some extent. For the calcified valves you require regular follow ups with Echocardiographic examination. If you become symptomatic or your heart ejection becomes low the valve needs to be surgically corrected.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
