What Causes Cervicitis During 31 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

I m 31 weeks pregnant. My obgyn just diagnosed me with cervicitis Monday. I m on 2 meds he gave me, but I ve noticed twice when urinating a pink tissue like substance in the toilet. It s not frequent but I haven t seen it before. Is that normal at this stage in my pregnancy? Should I be contacting my on again or visit ER? It s my first so I m not so sure.

Hello,

Cervicitis is infection if the column uteri and vagina and you should take antibiotics treatment as advised by your doctor.

There is no need to go to ER. Sexual intercourse can be the cause of it and abstinence is required while on treatment. Consult with your gynaecologist to treat even your partner if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
