Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a chalazion for a little over a year now, (not my first one, this is the third one I ve had and this is the longest lasting one I ve ever had) and it s not too big like some people don t even notice it unless I mention it. However, I know it s there and it s always an insecurity for me. Obviously when you have a chalazion your eyelid is a bit lower. My eyelids have always been similar and I worry that after getting the chalazion removed, which I do plan to do soon, after having it for so long that my eyelid won t just go back to being similar to the eyelid without the chalazion even after I fully heal. Would that be the case for me?

What Causes Chalazion On The Eyelids?
Hi.. Well, Chalazion is an infection in the oil glands present in eye leading to swelling and discharge. So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated. A clinical examination can be done for confirmation. If needed a course of antibiotics can help followed by applying a steroid based ointment and antibiotic and anti inflammatory eye drops. Dong warm compresses can also help in draining of the infection.. In case if nothing helps and the chalazion continue to grow then surgical drainage has to be done.. Hope I have answered your query. Please let me know if I can assist you further. Regards. Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist.
