What Causes Chalky Appearance Around The Lips And Mouth?

Sometimes in the morning I have white chalky appearance around my lips and mouth. I am 68 years old about 5 7 . I try to drink lots of water but don t always make eight glasses. I take hydrocortisone for Addison Disease., seven and one half mg. per day.

The white chalky appearance around the lips and mouth can be because of the reduced salivary secretion during night time(during sleep) or it can be a fungal infection like candidiasis. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can apply topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole.
