Hello,

Altered bowel movements are very common after introduction of solid foods. The following points are to be observed:
1) Greenish and stinky stools can occur initially when solid foods are introduced
2) If the baby is crying or unable to take food then the foods are to be rechecked
3) Solid foods can cause bowel movements irregular and you don't need to worry as they will get adjusted soon
4) Yellow urine most probably suggests dehydration. Make the child drink more water or milk.

The following are few symptoms that need medical attention:
1) Excessively crying baby without accepting feeds
2) No bowel movements even after 7 days
3) Baby crying when passing stool and hard stools

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
