What Causes Change In Nature Of Periods?

i am 49 years old. Up until 2 months ago my period was normal although it was heavy. Then my period was delayed by 2 weeks,but i bleed for 2 days, very light and smelly. I then started proper period 15 days ago and still bleeding and slightly smelly. Please advice
