What Causes Chapped Lips After Kissing?

Hello. I recently had an "encounter" with an old friend and soon after got very bad chapped lips and also noticed little bumps of clear liquid developing on them. I also have a scratchy, irritated skin and my tongue seems to be whiter than usual. After doing some research I have come to the conclusion that I have contracted syphilis. I have 500 MG of penicillin v which I have been told can cure it. How many tablets should I take daily and for how long?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of chapping of lips along with little bumps that occurred immediately after kissing seems to be due to allergic reaction to any skin cosmetic or lip cosmetic that your partner might be applying and has caused allergic reaction..
It can also be due to bacterial infection but not Syphilis that is a sexually transmitted infection..
It is because syphilis bacteria has an incubation period of 3 weeks to about three months and the lesion will not appear earlier that 3 weeks after exposure with the bacteria..
So I would suggest you not to take antibiotics without consulting a physician and getting a proper diagnosis done..
You should consult a dermatologist or oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of allergic reaction anti allergics like Allegra or Benadryl can be advised..
In case of bacterial infection oral and topical antibiotics can be given..
Apply thick coat of petroleum jelly over the lips and also do cool compresses for relief..
Drink plenty of water..
