What Causes Chest Congestion During Sleep?

I have had this problem for 10 years now. I have chest congestion at the time of sleeping or just after I fall asleep. I have to wake up, use the Seroflo 250 inhaler before the wheezing sound in my chest stops and i get releif. I have done allergy test, alopathy and homeopathic medication, but nothing has really helped. What could be my problem? What tests should I do?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
The complaint you are describing is known as orthopnea. In my opinon you should first consult cardiologist and get done ECG and 2D ECHO. As left ventricular failure gives such symptoms. If all these are notmal than consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray and pulmonary function test ( PFT ). This will helpful in deciding treatment. With seroflo you csn take montelukast and levocetrizine combination. It is antiallergic and antihistaminic.
