Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a miscarriage and soon after I started to get chest pain/pressure and I thought it was my heart, after that I started to experience sadness, anxiety, and fearful of a lot of things which turned into panic attacks. My DR did an EKG on me and it came back normal. She perscribed Clonazapen which helps. I am just worried that this wont got away. My chest is still sore from my panic attack. Does this go away?
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you need to have work-up for Pulmonary embolism with such symptoms and apart from EKG, an echocardiogram to look for right-sided heart pressure and rest of the work up including CTPA may be needed after careful examination by your primary care physician.
It can be muscular too and triggered by anxiety as well but objective causes need to be ruled out first.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
