What Causes Chest Pain After Hitting The Ball?

i got kneed in the chest by mistake while playing beach volleyball last night and i have sharp pain right in the middle of my chest. it hurst when i open my arms wide and it feels like i bruised a bone or something. could this be something serious or just a temp pain from the hit?

I can understand your situation and problem.
You are having blunt chest trauma.
And possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more in your case.
So avoid movements causing pain. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
You will mostly improve with all these.
But after 7-10 days, if you still feel pain, cough, shortness of breath than get done chest x ray to rule out internal damage.
