What Causes Chest Pain After Ingesting A Sunflower Seed?
I inhaled a sunflower seed earlier today i coughed a lot but didn t cough anything significant up. I m experiencing pain in my chest, localized to the left lower breast, especially upon inhalation. I m concerned i might have a sunflower shell lodged in my lung. Is this possible and should i be concerned?

Yes, it is possible. You are having vigorous coughing and chest pain on inhalation. These are commonly seen after aspiration of a foreign body like sunflower seeds. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done chest x-ray and bronchoscopy.
If both these are normal then no need to worry for aspiration of sunflower seeds. Bronchoscopy is not only diagnostic but it is therapeutic also. It will remove a foreign body if it is in the lungs.
