A lot of possiblities. Not really able to assess what is going on unless able to do an exam. Some common things are asthma like symptoms (like wheeze) from smoking anything. These symptoms generally subside in hours to a day sometimes can cause real problems breathing with severe wheeze/not able to get air. Irritation of the bronchi/lungs is not that unusual. All the other possibilies are much more uncommon (heart disease, really rare) irritation of the esophagus or reflux, or hiatal hernia are all quite common but don't know how smoking marijuana would be related to any of them.
