What Causes Chest Pain And Anxiety While Detoxing From Methamphetamine?
My son a 20 year old meth addict and he is on his third day of detoxing. He has been to the hospital 3 times in a week for chest pain and anxiety. Labs and cardio tests all come back normal. He is still in alot of pain and sleeps alot. Should I take him to see his family doctor or is this a normal part of detoxing?

Long use of Methamphetamine causes excessive adrenergic effect & leads to cardiac problems( chest pain, cardiac ischemia or infarction)So the symptom is from the toxicity itself & not a result of detoxification
Detoxifying is a very slow & careful process & results are seen after persistent efforts over a considerable time.
The heart effects show during detoxifying treatment too for considerable time.
You can discuss these things with the detoxifying physician & know about cause & prognosis .
