Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chest Pain And Breathlessness After Inhaling Methamphetamine?
I am having severe sharp pain in my right ear. I have been diagnosed 3 days ago with shingles from my breastbone, across my breast, under the arm and all the way to my backbone. This is on the right side. Would my ear pain have anything to do with the shingles, and what can I do to ease the pain?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This is a vessel constriction effect of Methamphetamine drug. This causes several things which include a rise in blood pressure, constriction of vessels of the heart.
None of which is likely to have anything to do with the ear pain. Shingles affect one single nerve in one area. So, it is not likely that the ear is connected to the shoulder.
On the other hand, cold sores and the closely related shingles can be triggered by colds as well. So, a cold can cause ear infection or congestion. It can also trigger shingles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
