Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chest Pain And Heartburn Despite Being Diagnosed With IBS?
I just don t feel very well sometimes, and I feel like I have some chest pain right behind my sternal area, it seems to be radiating out to each side of my sternum equally. I feel like it is more digestion issues, but how do I know. I think I have anxiety attacks as well, and a few days ago I had a meltdown. It feels like I have heartburn. I also feel like my temperature changes up and down a lot, I mean that I feel hot in a room and then cold later. The other thing is the forehead and the frontal cortex behind it feels hot and sweaty occasionally when I am really stressed. I am scared to go to a doctor, so I have not been to one since maybe 2007 or 2008, and was last diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome by an Nurse Practitioner.
You need to get a consultation with a cardiologist first as heart problem needs attention first and later if it is ruled out we can think of anxiety and bowel problem. I advise you to get an appointment with a heart specialist first.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
