What Causes Chest Pain And Shallow Breathing After A Rib Injury?
I bruised my ribs 4 days ago, thought they were healing a bit. tonight, all of a sudden, I have pain near my chest/lungs shallow breathing, sweating, cant lay down, and actually vomited. I felt better after vomiting, but some symptoms are still there. and now I notice a bruise on my side. still cant breathe deeply. I don t think it was a heart attack, but what could it be?

It can be a hematoma pressing over your pleura or the fractured floating rib pressing the lungs giving you such symptoms. In either case you have to get your x-ray done again then only any intervention can be planned
