Chest pains I woke up yesterday feeling like a pill was stuck in my throat. I had taken a pill the night before so I thought I hadn't drank enough water to get it down. at lunch, while eating soup, I had the worst chest pain with each bite that went down. right in the middle of my chest. felt like I had swallowed a burger whole and it was kind of on fire. same thing at dinner. the next day the lump in throat feeling is gone, but I still have the chest pain. also I feel like pain with a belch which I am doing some what often now, but not before. Taylor, female, 24 years old.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of acute gastritis is more. Pills often cause gastritis. And this causes acid reflux. So acid come up in the esophagus and cause central chest pain. Your belching, throat problem are also due to this reflux. So drink plenty of fluids orally. Take proton pump inhibitors (antacids). Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals. Don't worry, you will be alright in 1-2 days. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
