Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi i started to have chest pain a few months ago and today when i was at the gym i started to get really bad chest pain i don t know if it s cause i worked out for 5 hours straight at first i thought i was having another anxiety attack but i don t think it was cause this time it was really bad.
Workout requires energy and healthy heart to face it without any problem. If chest pain has started recently since a few months back, then, this is a ringing bell for you to check your heart.
It could be muscular skeletal due to perhaps over-strenuous exercises you might do. However, we want to make sure your heart is not suffering. So, a complete cardiac check up should be run as soon as possible: - ECG - echocardiogram - stress test - chest X-ray
For the moment, I advise to stop workouts and consult with cardiologist immediately.
Hope this helps.
