What Causes Chest Pain On The Left Side While Suffering From Cough?

I am a 59 year old female with a lot of problems including a leaky valve, an AV block, sarcoidosis in my lungs and throat, hypothyroidism, overactive bladder, asthma and restless legs. I take a lot of meds. Recently, I ve gone from tired to sleeping all the time. I have a Linq and it s not showing heart problems when I m having pain, pressure and aching in my heart even waking up from sleeping. My Lasik was increased from 1 pill twice a day to 2 in the morning and 1 at night but my ankles are always swollen even when I wake up. Now I have a cough and the left side of my chest aches all the time like I pulled a muscle.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Coughing causing pain in chest as you have mentioned the pain is like a pulled muscle indicates the same. Positive severe force of coughing pulls muscles and thus gives inflammation, pain and so on. Cardiac evaluation has already shown some problems as you have well mentioned along with other problems and multiple medications that you are taking.
So do not worry if the pain is with coughing.
You have to have a regular review of all the problems that you have mentioned and get the dosages adjusted as required.
