What Causes Chest Pain On The Left Side?

Hi, I ve been having left side chest pain. It is usually stabbing and will come and go. I first noticed it a few months ago after a Pilates class and thought I may have overdone it and strained a muscle. I still think this may have been the case - that it hasn t healed properly with lifting, exercise, coughing, etc - but am starting to worry slightly. It tends to feel better when I exercise (I swim daily) and if I adjust my position. It can be bad at night and sometimes feels stiff in the mornings.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
thank You for trusting HCM

Your symptoms could possibly be due to pulled muscle.
Pulled muscle is treated by taking adequate rest to let the muscle heal, Ibuprofen for pain, applying cold compress to reduce pain and inflammation.

If symptoms persist few days after trying these remedies, follow-up with a primary acre provider to rule out underlying rib fracture

Hope I was able to help you
Please address further questions/concerns
