What Causes Chest Pain On The Left Side?

I get a pain under my heart, left side of my chest, sometimes even to the back. I can feel it worse when I breathe, and up until a few days ago, was enough to make it difficult to stand up straight. It seems to come on more frequently after I eat, though not necessarily. I was on omeprozole but have stayed off until I can have a h-pylori breath test in two weeks. I took an antacid Pepcid a few times, but that does not help. Sometimes, letting out burps helps. I have been for years under a cardiologist s care for hypertension and hyperlipidemia with controlled by medicine, which I have take faithfully

Hi and welcome to HCM.
These are typical symptoms of ischemic heart disease and it requires evaluation.
This may indicate specific heart ischemic issues such as angina pectoris or heart arrithmias and this should be definitely evaluated by cardiologist and you need to do at least ECG, heart ultrasound and ergometry. Also, you should check your blood pressure and regulated body mass,avoid smoking.
Other risk factors should be established and prevented but at this point serious issues must be ruled out and the need for invasive angiography discussed with doctor.
