Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had chest pain off and on for past two years when I am really over exerting (riding bike up a hill, for example), or just two weeks ago I was walking and felt pressure in my chest. I have had 2 EKGs that were normal, and a Corus test that came back showing no heart problems. Good blood pressure readings and good heart beat according to the cardiologist I saw two days ago. He seems dismissive about me having heart trouble but I want to know what s causing the chest pain. He said he would schedule a stress test for me, but I can tell he doesn t think I have heart issues. The cost of stress test is $3200!!! I don t want to waste my money. so my question is: what are other causes of chest pain? he mentioned something about muscles in the chest or esophageal issues... I am 60 years old, female, never smoked. Thank you.

GERD 2.Esophagitis 3. muscular spasms 4. lung related issues like pleural inflammation 5. costochondritis 6. peptic ulcers
I would recommend you to get stress test done . As a common rule in general medicine , the serious issues should be ruled out first .
