What Causes Chest Pain Radiating To The Arm And Neck?

howdy, I regulary have chest pain, & in left arm up the neck to jaw shoulder and back of shoulder, in middle of chest or heaviness, one day asleep & it woke me up , as if my in sde or heart was shaking or rattling, scary! I take 50mg nexium a day. heart attacks on both sides of he family, start from early age. lately feeling stussed & heavy chest a little breathless. cheers trace:)

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chest pain radiating to the arm and neck . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to acid reflux are due to lung infection . The symptoms can also occur due to cervical spondylosis and trepezius muscle trigger point .I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order x-ray and examine physically . I would suggest you to eat light and non spicy specially at night , take antacid after every meal , take light walk after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for muscle and disc problem like cervical spondylosis .Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist for condition like angina .
