What Causes Chest Pain Upon Coughing While Suffering From Flu?
Hi, thanks in advance for your help. I m currently getting over the flu and i only have a chesty cough left to get rid of. Every time i cough however, i am experiencing shooting pains in my right arm. Upper and lower. I don t get the pain any other time but only when i cough. Do you have any idea of what this could be/the cause?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chest pain upon coughing while suffering from flu which could be due to chest infection/ upper respiratory tract infection. It seems immunity is getting impaired. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for X-ray chest and pulmonary function test as well. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then take proper course of antibiotics to you. Take steam inhalation. Avoid intake of spicy and hot food. Do warm saline gargles. Get ECG done as well to monitor cardiac functions.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
