What Causes Chest Pain While Coughing And Deep Breathing?

I have had a cold for about 10 days. Seems to be breaking up but I am having chest/rib discomfort when I cough or take a deep breath. Thinking it is just an issue with the muscles between the ribs from all the coughing. Just wanted to make sure it wasn t something more serious.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below:

1) Do a full blood count with differential

2) Take Pancef with probiotic Lactobacil

3) Take [Combiflam] 2 times if pain is severe

4) Apply heat to the affected area

5) Gentle stretching of the pectoralis muscles 2-3 times a day may be beneficial

6) 4-BONE soft gel capsules

7) Add [ABCOF]

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
