What Causes Chest Pain While Eating?

I get a pain from the center of my chest under my left rib cage to my left side every time I eat anything. I've been taking nexium, carafate, gas X and Tagamet. The gas x and tagamet I take after I get it and it seems to releave it some. Otherwise it is pretty severe.
Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my case evaluation, the condition has multiple possible reasons as
- intestine motility disturbances
- issues with gastric outlet
- gall bladder calculus, biliary narrowing or others
- diaphragm or gastro esophageal junction disorders
- others.

In our clinic, after thorough clinical examination, I recommend an upper GI endoscopy or other evaluative perspective as per the case concern.

Do continue to use our medical services.

Regards.
