What Causes Chest Pain While Suffering From Alzheimer S Disease?

My mother is 90 years old with Alzheimer s disease. She complained about chest pain yesterday. She lives in an assisted living facility. I took her to the ER. Just called this morning to check on her condition. Nurse told me that doctors want her to undergo a stress test. I m not sure about that. EKG , blood work, and x-rays were fine yesterday. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Stroke, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, smoking and diabetes are all vascular risk factors for Alzheimer's disease.

If you are having chest pain get done all the screening tests to rule out any developing coronary artery disease, this will include lipid function tests, CBC, urinalysis, ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, X-ray, CT and MRI if required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
