What Causes Chest Pain While Taking Cholesterol Medication?
I am a 68 white male. I had a stent put in Jan 2004. I am experiencing some pain below my chest. It radiates from side to side. I sleep fine thru the night, no pain. I am 5 8 and weigh 200 lbs. I think my excess weight might be causing this. I am going to call my PCP Mon am. I am on blood pressure medications and cholesterol meds too. Your thoughts please. Thank you
Pain in the chest may have many causes. If the pain is more with moments, and is aching type, it very likely to be related to sore muscles.
You should not worry and may take some over the counter painkillers. However, if the pain is in the left chest, diffused and or associated with any breathing difficulty, sweating etc then you should go to ER. (but your pain is less likely to be cardiac).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
