What Causes Chest Pain With Breathing Trouble?

i can't find anyone with my problem...just pieces here and there. I am a 22 year old female. i have a family history of heart disease but my mother and father are fine. I usually have a glass of red wine almost every night and some weekend i go out and drink. I've had an occasional cigarette when drinking but not any time lately. I work in a stressful job but i don't feel like it is taking a toll on me, the only reason i mention it is because i hear chest pain can be stress related. i get a decent amount of exercise and doctors have always told me i am in good health aside from borderline asthma in high school. I also had a few panic attacks mid high school but haven't had any since. for the last two weeks or so i've had bad chest pains in the center of my chest between my breasts. the usual off and on pain through the weeks has felt like my ribs are being pushed or punched inwards and sometimes it makes it hard to breath and i actually start breathing harder. here and there i think i've felt a heart murmer and here and there i feel like someone stabs me in the chest or heart with a knife. its freaking me out and as i type i feel a deep pain i've had for the last 20 minutes. it seems like these pains are getting worse and im in the middle of searching for a new doctor. i dont know if i should wait for something bad to happen to go to the e.r. or if i should just book a doctors appointment and wait out the pain.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of asthma related breathing difficulty and chest pain is more likely.
Stress and anxiety give additional effects on asthma related symptoms.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT will tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You will need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
Also consult psychiatrist for counseling sessions. You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
