What Causes Chest Pain With Soreness After A Trauma?

Bent over to reach for something and hit the middle of my chest between my breasts hard on the dining room chair. It hurt a lot but went away. It s the next day and it s starting to become more sore/painful. I decided to put ice, but should I be concerned? I don t think I ve had a difference in my breathing. I don t feel pain when breathing in or exhaling deeply either.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
It looks like superficial bony injury only.
But in blunt chest trauma atleast chest x ray is needed to rule out internal organ damage.
So get done chest x ray.
If it is normal than it must be superficial bony pain. Try to follow these.
1. Avoid painful movement like banding or stretching.
2. Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
3. Warm water pad application on affected side.
4. Avoid exercise and heavy weight lifting for 1-2 weeks.
