General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Chest pain can be indicative of developing CAD. Get all required routine cardiac tests done like stress test, echocardiography, EKG, X-ray, lipid function tests, blood glucose, CBC, etc. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & the severity of the symptoms. Other underlying health condition that can cause similar symptoms are GERD, peptic ulcer(pain aggravated after eating spicy or oily food), ulcerative colitis or biliary colic.

Get endoscopy and few other investigations done if required to confirm ulcer. In the meantime, you can take PPIs, for relieve from pain and discomfort. You are advised to avoid eating hot, spicy or oily food. Prefer to take boiled home made food for a couple of days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
