What Causes Chest Pain?

I have had several EKGs done going back like 10 years and they always say I have inverted T wave lines I ve had several stress tests that they told me came back normal but I went to the ER the other day with chest pain and the ER doctor says I need to have a heart cath done because all my syress tests were not completely normal so 1 dr says normal and 1 says not normal is a heart cath really necessary i am only 45 years old ( female) my appointment with cardiologist is in 9 days and im a little nervous

Hi,

These are typical symptoms of ischemic heart disease and it requires evaluation.

This may indicate specific heart ischemic issues such as angina pectoris or heart arrhythmias and this should be definitely evaluated by a cardiologist and you need to do at least ECG, heart ultrasound and ergometry. Also, you should check your blood pressure and regulated body mass, avoid smoking.

Other risk factors should be established and prevented but at this point, serious issues must be ruled out and the need for invasive angiography discussed with the doctor.
