Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m having some pain in the middle of my chest area, that feels like it might be indigestion, however, it s been happening for months, and gradually getting worse. I m taking ameprosole, to ward off any indigestion, and I still get the dull pain. Any idea what that might be.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pain in the epigastrium may well be because of indigestion. However, no improvement with Omeprazole and it's increasing nature should be taken a bit more seriously. It would have been more informative if you could have mentioned your age, gender, any medical conditions experienced, smoking etcetera so that we could find that if it could be a cardiac pain. However, I would suggest you to see your physician, he may ask you more question about the pain. He would check you and be in a more better position to understand the nature of pain and guide you ahead.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
