hello doctor, i have pain in my chest just below the left breast. I thought its cardiac, so went for checkup all tests are normal, and they say its mild valve prolapse, and given me 10 mg inderal, theni thought is some muscle ache so did MRI for the neck and all reports normal. Still daily i have pricking pain in chest and irritation. i cant figure out is it gastric, or what. Can you help me
Pleuritis is a condition where there is inflammation of covering of lungs that causes Pricking kind of sensation in chest , but most of the time this is self limited and goes off within few weeks . I strongly feel you are having Pleuritis .
I advise you ask your doctor to prescribe you NSAID's which will give you good relief .

HI Thanks for posting your query . Chest pain apart from Cardiac and muscular could be caused due to Gastritis or Pleuritis . Pleuritis is a condition where there is inflammation of covering of lungs that causes Pricking kind of sensation in chest , but most of the time this is self limited and goes off within few weeks .
