Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had two stents put in 4 weeks ago i n my arteries of the heart and since the stents have been put in I have been experiencing pressure in my chest like a book is sitting on it. I went to the doctors yesterday and he sent me today for a stress test and I will not know what the results will be for two weeks. Meanwhile since my stents placement I have extremely high blood pressure and I go to the cardiac rehab and they will not even let me on the bike or even take the bike test. Is this normal or do I need to worry about this? What could this pressure be?
most likely it's normal, sometimes patient may get a feeling of mild chest pain, heaviness in chest. however to be on safer side you can get yourself evaluated. however there is no direct relation between stent and blood pressure. However get tablets prescribed for blood pressure like tab metoprolol xr 25 mg or telmisartan 40 mg. Also consume low salt diet and regular exercises. Also healthy lifestyle and low fat, sugar diet will help
