What Causes Chest Tightness And Palpitations Despite Taking Diazepam?

I have had palpitations regularly every morning and usually during the middle of the day they return as I feel very tired. They seem to be getting much more regular and I feel pretty knackered. I have a kind if tightness un my chest which seems to radiate to my throat area. I ve had anxiety problems in the past and when I took diazepam it seemed to calm them if took a tablet. What do you suggest us happening? I am 47 and have had palpitations on and off for years.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Cardiac ischemia causing tight chest & palpitations is mostly associated with breathlessness. You might have relapsed anxiety problem. You need to consult your psychologist. Still it is advisable to get a heart check up done & exclude any problem there.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
