What Causes Chest Tightness While Swallowing Cold Liquids?

Sometimes, I feel a tightness in my chest upon swallowing cold liquids. It feels like a knot is moving down my throat. It stops after a moment and I am able to continue drinking the cold liquid without further. I am a 73 yr old male, 5 foot. 9 inches tall, weight is 135 lbs. I have recently had coronary bypass surgery (5 week ago) and my recovery seems to be going well). This has happened to me throughout my life, but never with the severity of the pain I experienced yesterday. Is this pain going to be diminishing as time passes? Thank you.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Generally, musculoskeletal pains stays after bypass surgery and has no relation with cold products. It’s recommended for you to consult your treating cardiologist and a pulmonologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
