What Causes Chest Tube Hole Pain With No Other Symptoms?

Wife had chest tube removed about 13 days ago. Hole is healing very nicely with no visible signs of infection. This evening she started feel pain approximately 12-14 inches below the hole. No problems breathing, no fever, no tenderness, just some moderate pain. What may be causing this?

I am so sorry about this pain that you have reported. This pain is most likely related to the trauma associated with inserting and manipulating the pain. wih no other symptoms, I recommend pain medications for this. There is no reason to panic at this time. Unless something else comes up.
