What Causes Chills Along With Shortness Of Breath And Confusion?

I have been feeling cold symptoms for a few days. They get better overnight and worsen throughout the day. I have bouts of chills, confusion and lack of cognitive clarity, and shortness of breath. This morning I felt as if the room was spinning, i couldn t focus my vision and had to sit down and wait several minutes for the feeling of falling to pass. Is it possible I have pneumonia?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is possible that you have developed pneumonia but it can be confirmed only after a physical examination and chest x-ray. I would advise you to get yourself checked by a physician.

If diagnosis is confirmed, then you may have to take a course of antibiotics and also corticosteroid therapy to relieve your chest congestion. It is also advisable to get a complete blood work up done including ESR and HB levels.

Meanwhile, you should take steam inhalation with Sinarest capsules for temporary relief. You can also take an over the counter antihistamine like Levocetirizine 10 drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma. Amman
