What Causes Chills And Cough After Being Treated For URTI?

I had a viral respiratory infection on Feb 2. Today is Feb 26 (3 weeks later)and I am still coughing and still have a few chills occasionally, and am still really tired and don t feel well. Should I go back to the doctor - or wait one more week. No smokers in my house.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a recurrent respiratory infection.

The most common cause is the fact that the infection wad not treated properly.

I suggest you visit your doctor again for a physical examination.

Meanwhile, you can take an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
