What Causes Chills And Headache After Switching From Cipro To Macrobid?

My doctor switched my med from cipro to generic macrobid for a bladder infection. I am having chills and aches with a headache. The info sheet said this could a be a serious side effect. Should I stop the he meds until I can get a hold of the doctor?

Hello,

The chills and ache are normal symptoms of an infection.
In my opinion, they are not related to the use of Macrobid medications. I suggest to continue them as prescribed by your doctor. In case that you have other symptoms you may consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
