What Causes Chills With Fatigue, Headache And Tonsillitis?

Hi I am asking this for my husband a 44yo that does not smoke or drink. He has a history of ear infections and mono up until early adulthood. This past week his allergies starting bothering him but yesterday it has turned to white spots on one tonsil, chills, body aches, fatigue, sinus drainage, headache across forehead, pain along side of neck under ear and jaw line and only a low grade fever briefly. We think its just his allergies still but want to rule out tonsillitis or strep throat.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chills with fatigue, headache and tonsillitis . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like mumps , strep throat , granular pharyngitis , cold exposure and viral syndrome . But in your case the symptoms are probably due to viral infection , which will go away in few days without any treatment .I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , examine physically and take history to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drug like acyclovir along with anti pyretic and anaglesics . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist if there will be mumps or any other condition related to upper respiratory track infection . Doctor may also go for tonsillectomy if symptoms occur again and again.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
