What Causes Choking Sensation In The Throat After Vomiting?
Hello, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and was vomiting yesterday and after vomiting, I feel like there something stuck in my throat, I tried drinking lots of water hoping that it will go down but it s still there. I was wondering what it is and how can I make it goes away.
Due to frequent vomiting, the inner walls of your food pipe gets irritated and inflamed in some cases, due to the acidic nature of the gastric contents and it swells up mildly sometimes. For that swelling & inflammation, we feel a foreign body sensation or something stuck in your throat kind of feeling. Give your throat rest, eat bland, no spices or oil, take warm water frequently.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shah Sayeema Nissar Kirmani, General & Family Physician
