What Causes Chronic Abdominal Cramps After Placement Of An IUD?

I got an IUD about a month ago maybe 3 weeks ago and I am now having excruciating pain just about every other day and each time the pain gets worse and worse. I know it is not normal cramps because I have taken painkillers and they have not done anything to help me with the pain. Is it possible my body is rejecting the IUD???

Pain after IUD insertion is common. However, since you notice persistent worsening pain, please be advised to follow up with your gynecologist to confirm that IUD is in the correct position, get a vaginal swab done to rule out any infections, and urine testing to rule out possible pregnancy.
